About Us

Lou the 12 year old Beagle is having a ball receiving rehab treatment from Dr. Cole at Aurora Animal Hospital.

Our Mission: To make a difference in the lives of all animals who are in the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter by augmenting services which are not included in the FNSB operating budget.

What We Do: The Fund provides veterinary care for injured and sick animals, who might otherwise be euthanized, so that they may be adopted into loving forever homes. We also provide food, supplies and comfort items for foster homes who are housing animals with ongoing medical needs. Additionally, we underwrite projects such as resuscitation masks to all local fire station and first responders. Since 2002, the Fairbanks Animal Shelter Fund has assisted several hundred animals each year!

Our History: Founded in 2002, we are the support group for the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter and Division of Animal Control. The Fund is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity with a permanent tax exempt status. Form 990 is filed annually with the Internal Revenue Service and is available upon request to interested parties. The Fairbanks Animal Shelter Fund is an Alaska nonprofit corporation and is a registered charity with the State of Alaska Department of Law, Division of Consumer Protection.
